BATU PAHAT - The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) is identifying the synergy needed to ensure the ‘Rahmah Initiative' that has been created, especially Menu Rahmah, will be able to last for a long time.
Its minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said that to implement it, KPDN would need synergy or collaboration from various parties to help the needy.
He said this included expanding cooperation with suppliers of raw materials and operators of eateries, restaurants as well as several other parties.
"We need a synergy because KPDN cannot work in silos to make it (Menu Rahmah) a success. I will carry out engagement sessions with those from the food industry, restaurants and suppliers of raw materials.
"We will also involve fast food companies to ensure this menu is long-lasting and has longer continuity and not something one-off or lasts for just a day or two,” he told reporters after the launch of the Menu Rahmah at Restoran Wachaa, Parit Raja, near here today.
The Pulai Member of Parliament (MP) explained that his ministry was also open to receiving views from the public to improve the Rahmah initiative.
At the same function, the Simpang Jeram state assemblyman also presented Rahmah Basket food aid to 30 recipients from the B40 group around Parit Raja. - BERNAMA
