Noisy drunk attacks and injures mother

JEMPOL - An unemployed man has been detained by police following a fit of alcohol-infused violence in which he attacked and injured his mother after being told off for being noisy in the wee hours of Monday morning.

Jempol District Police chief Superintendent Hoo Chang Hook said in the 5.30am indicent, the victim was said to have approached the suspect who then turned violent after being told to not be noisy.

"The suspect scolded his mother before punching her shoulder, tugging her hair and then shoving the victim to the ground.

"The victim suffered several injuries on the back of her left shoulder and received treatment at the Jempol Hospital,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

Hoo said investigations found the victim had been a tailor for 19 years and had four children while the suspect was unemployed.

"The suspect was drunk during the incident and was remanded for four days starting on Tuesday for further investigations.

"The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code and Section 18(A) of the Domestic Violence Act,” he said.
