ISTANBUL - Spanish fashion designer Paco Rabanne died on Friday at the age of 88 at his home in France, Anadolu Agency reported.
"The House of Paco Rabanne wishes to honour our visionary designer and founder who passed away today at the age of 88. Among the most seminal fashion figures of the 20th century, his legacy will remain a constant source of inspiration," Puig, the parent company to Rabanne’s brands, said in a statement.
Rabanne was born on Feb 18, 1934 in the Spanish town of Pasajes in the Basque Autonomous Community.
He ended up making a great career as a dressmaker and perfume creator, especially in France.
The collaboration between the designer and Puig began in the late 1960s with the launch of Calandre perfume.
The company acquired the entire Paco Rabanne business in 1987, bringing fashion and accessories under the same roof as fragrance. - BERNAMA
