SHAH ALAM - After countless criticism, former Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar is the best individual to take on the role of Senior Economy Advisor to the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Sungai Petani MP Mohammed Taufiq Johari said this was based on Nurul Izzah's experience making her capable of advising the Tambun MP.

"She (Nurul Izzah) was an MP for three terms other than being appointed as a Public Accounts Committee (PAC) member to check and balance country funds along with her experience meeting several leaders outside at 18-years-old when Anwar was fired.

"Some asked why not advise at home? To me the prime minister is the one spearheading the country, not Anwar individually. Nurul Izzah's appointment was due to her being a trusted individual and it is appropriate in the structure itself.

"To advise the prime minister, there must be a hierarchy, no individual can simply advise him," he said at the 382nd Edition of Wacana titled ' can the Madani Concept Restore the Country' aired on all Sinar platforms on Tuesday.

Other panelists were Darul Ehsan Institute Board Member Amidi Abdul Manan and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia International Law Specialist Associate Professor Dr Salawati Mat Basir while Ismail Adnan was the moderator.

Taufiq said the Madani concept is not rhetoric or a rebranding brought by the prime minister.

He said the Madani concept could be achieved if all parties namely the government and the people were involved.

"The elements I focus on is confidence and trust as it is the hardest to reach. This meant the trust of the public towards others and their leaders.

"The previous administration had many issues that cause people to distrust them. Why? Because many choose to practice upper class democracy meaning having a gap between the people and their leader causing distrust towards them," he added.

He said if trust existed Madani Malaysia could be conceived to prosper Malaysia.
