BUKIT JALIL - National track cycling athlete Datuk Mohd Azizulhasni Awang and Datuk Pandalela Rinong were named National Sportsman and Sportswoman at the 2021 National Sports Awards today.
Mohd Azizulhasni beat the top nominees of Ng Eain Yow (skuasy), Aaron Chia Teng Fong and Soh Wooi Yik (badminton), Buda Anak Anchah (body building), and Muhammad Syarifuddin Azman (motorsport moto3).
Meanwhile, Pandalela beat a top-class field of nominees that included Nur Amisha Azrilrizal (Muaythai), Rachel Mae Arnold (squash), Aifa Azman (squash), and Meilaura Dora Jimmy (body building).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim presented the awards that were held at the National Sports Council.
Also present were Sports and Youth Minister Hannah Yeoh and Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth Adam Ali, as well as national sports figures and champions, who attended the awards ceremony.
