In a statement issued by the Chief Minister's office, Hajiji said he was confident that Anifah's extensive experience in international relations would help the state government establish good ties with foreign countries and investors.
Anifah, 69, held the position of Foreign Minister for almost 10 years under the premiership of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
In another development, Hajiji also received a courtesy visit from the Science, Technology, and Innovation (Mosti) Deputy Minister, Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup.
During the visit, Arthur briefed on Mosti's collaboration project with state departments and agencies as well as programs that have been and will be implemented in Sabah.
