SHAH ALAM - Former Umno Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin responds to the party’s decision to sack him, highlighting that this is not the end.
In a series of Instagram stories posted today, Khairy said Umno had unilaterally sacked him despite the loyalty he had to the party for over two decades.
He said that he was not provided with a proper hearing or issued a show cause letter before he was given the boot.
The decision made by Umno last night, he said, was not the end for him and Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, who was suspended from the party for six years.
He added a picture of him and Hishammuddin from 2018 and said that both of them used to lead Umno Youth during their own era, which led him to be with the party.
"Two (Umno) Youth figures. Both have led Umno Youth.
"Among the reason why choice was made to be with Umno and Youth Wing. The decision yesterday is not the end,” he wrote.
Earlier, Hishammuddin had posted a photo of him consoling a crying woman believed to be an Umno member, with caption that read "Their evil must not make us lose our good."
Khairy had commented on the photo to say that he did not expect to share similar experience with the former defence minister after years of being loyal in in Umno.
He also reiterated that this is not the end and in fact, it is far from the end.
Yesterday, Khairy and former Selangor Umno liaison committee chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar has been sacked, while Hishammudin was suspended.
Among other members who have been suspended from the party for six years were former Umno Deputy Youth Chief Shahril Hamdan, Umno Youth Exco Fathul Bari Mat Jahya, former Jempol MP Salim Mohd Sharif and former Johor State Exco Maulizan Bujang.
