SHAH ALAM - Umno’s top leadership decision to sack and suspend 48 members will only further weaken the party and impact the party’s return for the upcoming six state elections.
Umno Malaysia Student and Youth Education Committee Member Syed Mohd Syed Nasir called out Umno President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s actions as "killing” the party from within.
He also said Zahid needed to distinguish between political revenge and the struggle to balance the power so Pakatan Harapan will not silently destroy Umno.
"The people’s views to tonight’s action and decisions will be reflected in the upcoming six state elections.
"Every action or strategy of the party will definitely have its consequences, the repercussions and impact based on what the Umno president have done and risked,” he said in a statement tonight.
Syed Mohd said Umno’s fate was in the hands of those who has been boot-licking the president and raised him so high to the sky up to a point where he was unaware of the destruction happening below.
"The people have rejected us, listen to our voice,” he said.
