SHAH ALAM - Umno belongs all its members, not just the Supreme Working Council members, says former Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin as he waits for his fate in the party tomorrow night.
Khairy said having a different point of view from the leadership does not mean that he is not loyal to the party.
"Having different views and demanding for the democratic process to be respected does not mean disloyalty to the party,” he said through an InstaStory post on Thursday.
Sinar previously reported that the Umno Disciplinary Board had met on Wednesday to discuss Khairy’s membership status.
However, the decision will be finalised tomorrow night by supreme council members.
The uneasiness between former health minister and supreme council members was seen during the 2022 Umno General Assembly decision not to contest the top two posts.
Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Thursday hinted that the fate of other individual besides the former Rembau MP will be determined in the meeting.
He added it represented a part of the massive purge in the party as decided in the general assembly.
