KLANG - Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) have today submitted a memorandum to the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs (MKI), calling for them to investigate alleged 'extremist views' being spread by Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
The memorandum, which sought the approval of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah as the MKI chairman for the investigations to be conducted, was handed over by Amanah Mobilisation Bureau director Sany Hamzan and Shah Alam member of Parliament Azli Yusof to the Timbalan Dato Pengelola Bijara Fahrin Asmawi at the Istana Alam Shah here today.
Hulu Langat member of Parliament Sany said Haid had in his speeches depicted those apart his own party as the Jewish tribes which fought against the Muslims in the Battle of the Trenches (Perang Ahzab) in 627AD, despite the majority of the others being Muslims.
"Did Hadi really intend to dispute the beliefs of the majority of Muslims in Malaysia?" he said when met by reporters outside the Istana Alam Shah.
Sany added that Hadi was seen as trying to question the rukun negara, the Constitution and the rule of law when he branded the establishment of the post-election government as outside the nature of democracy and a fraud which gathered groups of fraudsters, thieves and opportunists.
"The Unity Government was formed with the approval of the Yang di Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and in line with the law and the Constitution and accepted by the public, besides gaining international recognition.
"The legitimacy of the government and the Prime Minister had previously been challenged in Parliament, where the support was proven in the presence of Hadi, who was himself involved in the voting. Yet, in his persistent disagrement with the Constitution and law, Hadi had forgottten about his part in the formation of the backdoor government previously, which was actually against the nature of democracy," said Sany.
