SHAH ALAM - Bisnes Sinar Harian Awards (BISA) is the first step for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector to build a corrupt-free business industry that will grow solely on integrity value.
Yayasan Sinar for Malaysia (#RasuahBusters) chief executive officer Nurhayati Nordin said BISA’s existence would prove that SME built on the value of trust, cooperation, tolerance and effective leadership were basic principles of a holistic success.
"Sinar's effort through BISA certification is not a mediocre measure. It is Malaysia's recognition towards successful companies that managed to bring character building that creates professionalism and quality standard of a company and not simply success based on completion of performance index (KPI) and company policy.
"Criteria like drafting an honest and comprehensive human resource development plan that curb corruption is a significant motivation for every businessman to plan and framework their business based on values that bring blessed and dignified success and not merely ringgit and sen," she said.
Nurhayati said BISA was also a recognition of work system directed by discipline compass and moral character that inspire success.
She said winners of BISA awards possessed work ethics based on accountability, discipline, transparency and resilience.
"Work character with high value of commitment forms a work culture that guarantees success," she said.
She also added moral support and motivation through these certifications can boost the potential and work ethics of SME entrepreneurs.
"As SME makes up 97.4 per cent of overall establishment in Malaysia with 1,226,494 of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSEMs) from 2021 alone, Rasuah Busters saw its potential as the main economy sector in the country that will uphold integrity, values, character, race and is corruption clean.
"Therefore a business that is balanced in both economy and social aspects can be born," she explained.
