KUALA LUMPUR – A bus driver and 44 passengers managed to escape a harrowing situation when the tour bus they were on board caught fire at the UPM Toll Plaze in Serdang today.
The tour bus, headed to Kuala Lumpur from Johor Baru was totally destroyed by the fire, said Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Hafisham Mohd Noor.
"The bus was 100 per cent burned. However, the bus driver and its 44 passengers managed to escape,” Hafisham said in a statement.
He added the fire also caused damage to 10 per cent of the toll plaza's roof, while the cause of the fire was still being investigated. - Awani
