PM officiates MCA CNY celebration

KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) Chinese New Year celebration was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, today.

The open house event was held at Wisma MCA, here, at 9.30am.

Anwar was accompanied by Bandar Tun Razak MP and wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Kang Siong.

Also present were Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan and Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.

Various ambassadors from various foreign embassies in Malaysia were also present to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit.

They did a yee sang toss at the event as a symbol of prosperity and harmony.
