KOTA KINABALU - Police have confirmed receiving two reports involving a fight between school students, here.
Kota Kinabalu Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the report was made after a video that went viral on social media, in which the students were punched and kicked by another student, recently.
"A report was made last Tuesday by two students who were punched by the same suspect," he said, adding that the papers are opened under Section 323 of the Penal Code for intentionally causing injury.
He further told Sinar that no arrests have been made so far.
"However, the investigation continues and arrests will only be made after receiving instructions from the deputy public prosecutor.
"Police will not compromise over misbehavior and crime among students including causing injuries and even cases of bullying," he stressed.
Sinar on Wednesday reported on a viral video recording in social media involving a group of male students beating their friends, believed to take place in a school in Kota Kinabalu.
In the 23-second video clip that spread on social media, the victim was seen trying to defend himself from being punched and attacked by a group of students.
