SERDANG – A student from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has gone missing with his motorcycle after Friday prayers last week.
The student known as Mohd Irfan Hakimi Azhar, 22, was found to be missing after being contacted by his father.
Serdang District Police Chief, A A Anbalagan said, the student's father reached out to his son to inquire about his daily life at UPM at around 9am but received no response.
As a result, the man contacted his younger brother who lives near UPM to get more information about his son.
"Mohd Irfan Hakimi’s roommate informed the complainant’s younger brother that he was last seen riding a Yamaha LC135 motorcycle to go out for Friday prayers,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
He added that Irfan has not returned home or to his room in UPM up until now and is still unreachable when contacted by family members.
"Results of the investigation has found that Mohd Irfan Hakimi is a first semester student at the UPM Chancellor College majoring in Consumer Studies since last September," he stated.
Anbalagan said the student’s father filed a report at Sungai Besar Police Station, Sabak Bernam at 4pm on Monday.
"We ask for the public cooperation and whoever has any information on Irfan's whereabouts to contact the nearest police station or investigating officer Sergeant Kipli Rajak at 019-6177188 to help with the investigations," he said
