SHAH ALAM - PKR has reinstated the membership of Sarawak man Iswardy Morni after being accused of criticising the party's leadership on social media.
"Alhamdulillah, I was (found) innocent of all charges. My suspension was lifted, and my membership has been reinstated.
"I am back," the Sarawak PKR member said on Twitter today.
PKR had taken action against Iswardy after criticising the party's decision on social media and making statements that were considered seditious against the party's president and secretary general.
Its party communications director Fahmi Fadzil confirmed Iswardy was now an ordinary member and does not hold any position in the Sarawak PKR leadership hierarchy.
Iswardy, 45, was later charged at the Bukit Aman commercial crime investigation department on May 29 after he made comments during a Facebook live stream on the page "Iswardy Morni Official” that were deemed to be seditious towards the King.
On June 1 last year, Iswardi pleaded not guilty in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court to the charge of issuing a statement on a Facebook page that was deemed to be seditious and allegedly insulting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
