KUALA LUMPUR - Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal took a jibe at Umno for defending DAP, stating "even farts smells good to newly weds".
He was referring to Barisan Nasional's move to form a unity government with DAP.
"It's okay. Let it be. This is what its like when people are deeply in love. But he (Mohamad Hasan) seems to be diligent in being the spokesperson for DAP," said Wan Fayhsal while hitting out at Umno's number two.
With a Sinar Daily article attached with his comments on Facebook, he was referring to Mohamad or commonly known as Tok Mat who called Pas insincere and inconsistent with their political alliances.
In his 2022 Umno general assembly speech today, Tok Mat said Pas had been talking to everyone including Umno's ' widow' Perikatan National (PN).
Tok Mat was quoted as saying: "Working with Pas, they are not loyal, they have had affairs with all parties without any shame or stand. Look at their past dalliances with PKR and DAP, in the end everyone went their separate ways."
Tok Mat further said at the very least DAP has been sincere in forming an alliance with Umno for the sake of a unity government.
But Wan Fayhsal said during election campaign in Padang Serai, Umno President had joined DAP but "DAP to this day have not spoken on behalf of Umno."
"Umno leaders no longer talk about race. They only talk about the party and the interests of a small group of people - supported by their own warlords.
"There is no longer the question of Malay supremacy, the question of Malay unity - which we know is a pre-requisite for national unity. If the Malays are divided, who benefits?
"If the Malays fight, who stands a chance to lose?," he said.
The former deputy national unity minister further took a jibe at Umno, stating Umno leaders have changed their script as the Muafakat Nasional coalition seems to look like a soap opera to lure the Malays to defend a party that is involved with corruption and abuse of power.
