SHAH ALAM - Young Malaysian footballer Muhammad Soleh Ahmad Shukri has passed the evaluation and has been selected to enter the FC Malaga City Academy (FCMC) under-18 team.
The evaluation and selection was held on Saturday (Jan 7) in attendance FCMC Director George Jermy.
The 17-year-old right winger from FC 1Goal was selected for the FCMC under-18 academy based on his level of skill and gameplay.
"Alhamdulillah, I’m the only player from Malaysia and this is my dream, and I did it”, he said.
There were about 150 players from all over the world, including the Americas, Finland, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Brazil, Argentina and Portugal undergoing selection.
When asked on what would be his main focus, Soleh said that he wants to improve and learn as much as he can to get scouted by professional clubs in the process.
Soleh arrived in Spain on Wednesday (Jan 4) accompanied by his father Datuk Dr Ahmad Shukri Md Salleh. His arrival was welcomed by Malaysian ambassador in Madrid Akmal Che Mustafa.
