SEPANG - The candidate selected to be Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia has been identified and will be announced soon.
Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir,however, did not reveal the name of the candidate who will be appointed to the position.
"The appointment of the candidate as the Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia is almost at the final stage and it will be announced soon.
"The candidate has already been identified and will be announced by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim," he said at a press conference on the prime minister's maiden visit to Indonesia on Saturday.
It was previously reported that former Pasir Salak member of parliament Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman was appointed as the ambassaodor.
However, Tajuddin's appointment was later dropped by the government.
