IPOH - The Perak government presented incentives worth RM240,500 to 39 state athletes who won medals at the 20th Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma) 2022 in Kuala Lumpur last November.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the incentives were given to the medallists as a sign of appreciation and recognition for their efforts.
"As promised, the gold medallists will receive RM5,000 each for individual events, silver medallists RM3,000 each and bronze medallists RM1,000 each. The incentives will also be given to the five record-breakers in athletics.
"It was also proud to see our para archer Nur Jannaton Abdul Jalil winning the 20th Para Sukma Sportswoman’s award. She created history by winning three gold medals,” he told a media conference after presenting the incentives to the athletes here today.
Saarani said that the coaches and team managers would also receive incentives totalling RM18,500 for their commitment and efforts. - BERNAMA
