IPOH - The police yesterday arrested the suspect of a murdered man found dead in front of his house in Taman Klebang Putra, Chemor on Friday.
Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the suspect, a local man, 27, was arrested in Chemor and that investigation papers have been opened under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
"The police have apprehended the suspect believed to be involved in the murder of a 37-year-old man and are tracking his other accomplices.
"The suspect will be taken to the Ipoh Magistrate’s Court tomorrow for remand application,” he said in a statement, yesterday.
The murder victim had died at the scene of the crime at 11.28 pm yesterday and preliminary checks revealed there were injuries to his body, and that the police did not deny the possibility that he was a victim of an accident.
But an autopsy by the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital forensics department confirmed the cause of death to be due to multiple blunt force trauma and the case was classified as a murder.
