SHAH ALAM – A Thai woman and an Indonesian girl were injured when the express bus they were travelling in skidded and overturned in Rawang, here, earlier today.
The bus, believed to be headed to Pulau Pinang, was transporting 30 passengers before the incident which occurred about 500 metres from the Rawang toll plaza.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Norazam Khamis said following a distress call at 1.06am, nine personnel from Rawang fire and rescue station were deployed to the scene.
"Upon arriving at the scene, the rescue team found that the accident involved an express bus that was travelling from Rawang heading to the south.
"The bus carrying 30 passengers overturned by the side of the highway.
"The girl sustained injuries on her right leg while the 65-year-old woman sustained head injuries from the incident," he said in a statement.
Both victims were sent to Sungai Buloh hospital for further treatment.
