BATANG KALI – The sound of azan (call to prayer) breaks the deafening silence at the landslide tragedy at the Father’s Organic Farm campsite in Batang Kali here, today, just before the search and rescue (SAR) operation starts to find the last victim.
The Defence Ministry in a statement said that various methods were used by the SAR team to find another victim, a boy who is still missing.
"No such thing as despair. Various methods are used in the search for the victims of the Batang Kali landslide which entered the eighth day.
"Members of the 25th Battalion of the Royal Army Regiment (RAJD) chanted the call to prayer before the work resumed," the ministry said in a statement posted on its Facebook page.
On Friday, Sinar Harian reported that the SAR operation continued starting at 8am after being temporarily halted following heavy rain on Thursday evening.
Four bodies consisting of one adult male, one adult female and two children each male and female were found at 11.04am in sector C (riverside), here on Thursday.
All the victims were found in a tent at a depth of seven metres.
The latest progress means that only one more victim of the landslide tragedy has not yet been found by the SAR team so far.
