SHAH ALAM - The worsening floods in the East Coast caught the attention of the MySinar Concern Malaysia Organization (MySinar) who took the initiative to collect funds to provide basic needs to the affected victims.
MySinar Advisor Datuk Muhammad Nasir Hamzah said the organisation successfully collected funds amounting to RM5,740 within 48 hours through various channels on social media.
He said the items were then collected in Kumpulan Karangkraf here before it was sent to the flood victims in three locations namely Rantau Panjang, Pasir Putih and Hulu Besut.
"Alhamdulillah ( thank god) we managed to raise funds to some necessities including essential foods like rice and bread. We have also prepared diapers for the children. Tomorrow (Friday) we will move there with 30 volunteers.
"There are also various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who have sent aid for the flood relief mission, however our main focus is in rural areas to help the flood victims there," he said.
Muhammad Nasir added that the aid was also a form of gratitute for the people of Kelantan and Terengganu who had immediately sent aid when Selangor was hit by floods.
"This time we aim to help at least 300 flood victims, we have also cooperated with NGOs in the respective states to facilitate the identification of victims involved," he explained.
He added that MySinar is still in need of contributions from the public.
"Donations can be made through Pertubuhan Sinar Prihatin Malaysia (MySinar) at Maybank account number 5622 1823 3147, please out in Flood 2022 as a reference, so we are aware that the donation is for the floods.
"For any enquiries the public can contact the flood aid coordinator at 011- 10297273 (Rosdi Md Hasan) or 011- 10118384 (Mohd Sanusi)," he said.
