BATANG KALI - The search and rescue (SAR) operation to look for victims of the landslide tragedy at the camping site of Father’s Organic Farm, in Gohtong Jaya, here, was suspended at 10pm today.
Hulu Selangor district police chief Supt Suffian Abdullah, who confirmed the matter to Bernama, said the operation was suspended due to unfavourable weather and safety reason.
"Yes, stand down tonight and the operation will resume at 8 am tomorrow,” he said.
The SAR team found the body of an adult man at the landslide site today at 11.16 am today in Sector B (Farmview camp) of the area, bringing the death toll to 26.
The landslide which occurred at 2.42 am last Friday had seen 61 victims being rescued, while seven others still missing. It was reported that 94 people were involved in the tragedy. - Bernama
