BATANG KALI - The search and rescue (SAR) operation for nine remaining victims of the Father’s Organic Farm campsite landslide in Gohtong Jaya here has been suspended tonight.
Hulu Selangor district police chief Supt Suffian Abdullah said operations will resume at 8.30 am Tuesday.
"The SAR operation tonight has been suspended at 11 pm and will resume at 8.30 am tomorrow depending on weather conditions,” he told Bernama.
The SAR operation, spearheaded by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, managed to rescue 61 victims out of a total of 94 victims of the landslide that hit in the wee hours of Friday (Dec 16). The landslide resulted in 24 deaths, with nine still missing.
Meanwhile, checks by Bernama at the incident area control post here at midnight revealed that media practitioners and rescue personnel were making their way home in stages.
