BATANG KALI - The search and rescue (SAR) operations to find the nine remaining victims in the landslide incident at a campsite near Father's Organic Farm, Jalan Genting enters its fourth day today.
The main rescue agencies involved were the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), police and Civil Defence Force (APM).
Others involved were Survey and Mapping Department (Jupem) and the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).
The operations had started at 8am, but the weather remained gloomy as of 9am.
The SAR saw the use of tracker dog unit (K9) in addition to excavators and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) system to locate the victims.
On Friday, the fire department received a distress call on the incident at 2.24am.
A total of 94 victims were affected in the heartbreaking tragedy where 61 of the victims were saved, 24 victims were confirmed to be dead and nine were still being sought.
