RAUB - A landslide that takes place at a 600 square meter hillside located at the back of bank premises here today shocked the nearby residents.
However, there were no casualties reported in the incident.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department Deputy Director (Operations) Ismail Abdul Ghani said the department received a report regarding the incident from the public at 2.45pm on Sunday.
He said eight firemen from Raub fire station were deployed to the location.
"As soon as we arrived at the location, we assessed the location and found the landslide hit the back of the shop building.
"So far, there are no victims or vehicles involved in the landslide," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He said that the landslide happened at the hillside about 10 to 15 metres high and affected almost the entire road behind the building involved.
"We are inspecting and monitoring the location to ensure that the area is safe," he said.
In the meantime, Ismail said that his party would monitor the situation from time to time to prevent unwanted incidents from happening.
