SHAH ALAM – Campsite operator Father's Organic Farm today offers its sympathies to the victims and families of those who were affected by the landslide incident that occurred at its campsite in Gohtong Jaya on Friday.
In a statement addressed to the victims and their families, they expressed their deepest condolences to everyone affected by the tragedy which had so far claimed 24 lives.
"Disasters are faceless, love is with us!
"Our hearts are closely connected to you, may the deceased rest in peace, heartfelt and deepest condolences to the families; pray for the survivors and the injured for recovery, and please continue to take care,” the campsite operator posted on its Facebook page.
In addition, the operator also acknowledged everyone involved in the rescue and apologised to those impacted by the situation.
"We also pay our tribute to all parties involved in the rescue.
"Once again, we humbly bow to everyone affected by this tragedy,” the statement read.
As of yesterday afternoon, a total of 24 victims have been confirmed dead out of a total of 94 people involved in the tragedy. Sixty-one people have been rescued and nine are still missing.
In the incident at around 2.42 am on Friday, a landslide of nearly 300 meters long and 70 meters high hit the Father's Organic Farm campsite, Gohtong Jaya on Jalan Genting-Batang Kali.
Today, the search and rescue (SAR) operation for nine more people still missing from the landslide continues.
Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming had said that the three camping grounds hit by a landslide at Jalan Batang Kali — Goh Tong had been operating illegally since 2020.
The campsites were only granted planning permission for organic farming, approved by the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) in 2019.
