SHAH ALAM - Former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob denies of ever leaving the country to rendezvous with Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Refuting the "preposterous Jakarta Move", Ismail Sabri clarified that he was, as a matter of fact, in Malaysia on the supposed date of the clandestine meeting -- December 8.
"If you want to slander people, at least be reasonable about it. Immigration records will show that I did not leave the country. So this means that I was in the country.
"On December 8, I went to Bera, to watch the start of the International Rainforest Challenge. Prior to that, I had a meeting with a veteran journalist and we had banana leaf rice," added Ismail Sabri.
Talk of Ismail Sabri and the supposed Jakarta Move of a political manoeuvre with Muhyiddin started making round due to his absence from an Umno supreme council meeting on December 8.
Today, a news site reported that Ismail Sabri had told his lawyers to sue those who spread the rumour implicating him.
