KUALA LUMPUR - Monsta Studio's 3D animated film Mechamato Movie raked in RM1.1 million on its maiden screening which began on Thursday (Dec 8).
Mechamato Movie writer and producer Nizam Abd Razak in sharing the good news on his official Facebook also expressed his gratitude on the success.
"Thank you, Alhamdulillah! Thanks to the support of Malaysians, Mechamato Movie managed to collect more than RM1 million on the opening day of screening nationwide. Thank you to those who have watched and those who will watch #MechamatoMovie," he said.
Besides in Malaysia, Mechamato Movie can also be watched in cinemas in Brunei.
According to a Monsta statement, Astro Shaw as a co-producer and distributor has high faith in local animation production houses such as Monsta in addition to believing that the brand has credibility and a good record in bringing Malaysia's name to the global level.
Monsta is the creator of the popular animated series BoBoiBoy, Mechamato, Papa Pipi and Fly With Yaya.
Mechamato, the latest product from the studio, was 'TOP 3' at the Tokyo Anime Festival Awards 2023 Japan.-- BERNAMA
