SHAH ALAM - Be careful of fake social media accounts posing as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
In a Facebook post, the Prime Minister's Department (JPM) cautioned everyone when sharing posts supposedly posted by Anwar.
" If unsure please don't share any information as it can be fake," the post stated.
The post went on to explain that the posting on Twitter made through a fake account titled " The UEC recognition will be discussed at the ministry level and the proposal will be approved later by the unity government in line with Pakatan Harapan's manifesto is fake.
It is believed the particular post has been made viral on social media especially on Twitter.
The department went on to list all of Anwar's official social media handles and accounts.
The Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) is a standardized test for Malaysian Chinese independent high school students.
The UEC exam is also equivalent to Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) and A-levels recognised in other countries like United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Taiwan and more.
According to the Study Malaysia website, students who have attained a UEC qualification can apply directly to a private college or university in Malaysia to pursue tertiary qualifications.
However, UEC is not accepted as an entry requirement into a public universities in Malaysia.
