PUTRAJAYA - Discussions on the appoinment of deputy ministers for all ministries will commence this week.
In saying this, Economic Minister Rafizi Ramli added this was briefly discussed during the first Cabinet meeting on Monday.
"We would apply the same process which we used to form the Cabinet. Certain conditions such as number of deputy ministers representing each coalition will be looked into as well.
"Contributions made by each member of parliament (MP) will also be factored in," he said at a press meet at RMK12 Half Term Review Kick-Off Conference.
The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will decide on the suitability of each portfolio with the prospective deputy ministers, however, each coalition could also nominate their preferred candidates.
"Finalised names based on expertise and experience will be taken to Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah for approval.
"I reackon that this process will happen this week and will take another a week or two for it to be concluded," he added.
