SHAH ALAM - Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has been summoned by the police to give a statement over a police report lodged by several parties against him.
The Marang MP will be at the Sentul police headquarters at 3pm to have his statement recorded, his aide was quoted in FMT.
Pakatan Harapan last week lodged a report over a remark Hadi made on a football referee providing "extra time for the losing side” after the match was over.
In addition to that, another comment he wrote in Pas' Harakah which sparked interpretations as reference to the formation of a unity federal government brought about raging reactions on Twitter.
PH in response to the statement viewed the statement as a reference to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and claimed that Hadi’s remark was no less than a treason.
On the other hand, Ampang PKR just towards the end of last month had filed a report against Hadi over his claim that DAP promoted Islamophobia and prevented Pas from being in a position of power. He described the PH component party as "immoral” according to Free Malaysia Today.
On Nov 10, Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng lodged a report against Hadi for calling DAP a "pro-communist” party.
In August, Hadi was reported saying that non-Muslims and non-Bumiputeras were at the root of corruption and formed the "majority of those involved in ruining the country’s politics and economy."
