SHAH ALAM - The government should trust Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on the vote of confidence on Dec 19, says Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
However, he said it was not under the control of those who sat in the opposition.
"For the opposition, obviously we could not control it, but those in the government, I think we should give our trust and faith as the process of electing the Prime Minister has been done.
"Hence, let’s give him faith and flexibility to govern Malaysia through this time and let's assess together,” he said.
Syed Saddiq said it was also important to show empathy to the people.
"This is the prerogative of the Prime Minister, and the last thing we want is for the people to suffer because of the upcoming economic recession,” he said.
Anwar was sworn in as the 10th Prime Minister on Nov 25 after a five-day political impasse following inconclusive polls in the 15th General Election (GE15) on Nov 19.
