SEREMBAN - Road users are advised to use the Kajang-Seremban (Lekas) Highway following the temporary closure of the Seremban-Mantin route after a landslide also toppled trees at Jalan Batu 5 in Bukit Mantin, near here, today.
Mantin Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Priscilla Carol Thomas said the Seremban-Mantin road had to be temporarily closed for the clearing of debris and removal of fallen trees, with assistance from various agencies including the Public Works Department (JKR).
"We received an emergency call regarding the landslide at 5.38 pm today and rushed fire-fighters to the location, with assistance from police and the Civil Defence Force (APM).
"No casualties were reported and experts are monitoring for any slope movement that could result in more landslides, especially with the roads being dark and the current rainy season,” she told Bernama.
She also told residents in Mantin to stay vigilant and to move to safer areas in the event of further landslides. - BERNAMA
