SHAH ALAM - The new government formed with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the Prime Minister (PM) has no moral legitimacy.

This, Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said was because Perikatan Nasional (PN) which was a party representing the Malays was not included in the new government dominated by DAP.

"The newly formed government with Anwar as PM is not a unity government.

"This is because the political coalition that represents the Malays, which is PN, is not part of this PH-Barisan Nasional (BN) government which is dominated by DAP which is the largest party in the new government with 40 seats.

"Therefore the new government under Anwar and DAP has no moral legitimacy,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

Faizal claimed that the King has ordered for a unity government to be formed, but this was not what happened.

He also claimed that Anwar became the PM through political positioning with BN, not with the people’s support adding that the latter's appointment was only because of a joint plan with Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who was facing corruption charges in court.

"Anwar became PM not with the support of the majority of the people but through political arrangement with BN, where Anwar promised the people during the campaign that he would not join forces with BN which was involved in scandals and corruption.

"It is the opposite of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (PN chairman) who refused to deal with Zahid, or even drop corruption the charges against him when he held the PM post,” Faizal added.
