"In carrying this heavy burden, I will be with the team guided by the wishes and aspirations of the people," said Anwar in a Tweet accompanied by two pictures from his swearing in ceremony before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at the Istana Negara earlier.
Ending with the hashtag #DemiPertiwi, the post had received more than 25,000 likes and 16,000 retweets within 15 minutes of being uploaded.
Also updated was his Twitter description, which now states "Prime Minister of Malaysia".
