ALOR SETAR - The first impact of PAkatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's appointment as the 10th Prime Minister will be stability in the country's administration, Kedah PH chairman Datuk Mahfuz Omar said on Thursday.
Mahfuz said all the obstacles and hardships that Anwar had faced before will serve as motivation for him to govern the country with fairness and integrity.
"Alhamdulillah, at the discretion of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, the 10th Prime Minister has been appointed.
"With extensive experience and good relations with foreign countries, Anwar is able to bring Malaysia back towards becoming a respected nation," he said in a statement on Thursday.
According to the Parti Amanah Negara vice president, PH's desire to fight and eliminate corruption and uphold the country will surely be the mainstay of Anwar's government.
"May a prosperous and clean country, free from the corruption that we aspire for come true," Mahfuz added.
