SHAH ALAM - The Palace has asked the Rakyat to stay calm as the process to form a new government takes place. In a statement it said the voters have decided for their representatives.
"Indeed, the future of the country is too precious and plans should be made carefully and thoroughly.
"The people have already decided to choose their representatives.
"It now depends on the representatives to look for a solution from the deadlock," it said.
The King had also asked the Rakyat to pray for the harmony of the country. It further said the Malay rulers meeting held tomorrow at 4.30pm was to get views of Malay rulers.
This morning the King had met MPs from the Barisan Nasional and Sarawak's GPS.
Yesterday the King met leaders from Pakatan Harapan and Perikatan Nasional, it further said.
The sessions with coalition leaders were held after no political parties won a simple majority to form a government.
"Please note that the above process is in line with Article 43(2) (a) of the Federal Constitution and held for the King to make a decision to appoint a member of the Parliament who might get the trust of the majority to be the prime minister,” the statement said.
