SHAH ALAM - Perikatan Nasional (PN) Youth have insisted that the coalition have never spread divisive racial and religious sentiments as propaganda but instead rejected such a culture..
PN deputy head of information Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir said, the core embraced through Rukun Negara is followed by every member of the party.
"In PN there is racial and religious diversity and we are of a standing that we respect each other in the spirit of integration, prosperity and political consociationalism as the core.
"Islam absolutely forbids its followers from being racist towards other faiths in the world besides the core embraced through Rukun Negara which is our guide," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani on Monday said that the police warned and stressed social media users to refrain from abusing the platform.
He said the police also issued warnings due to a lot of content on social media touching on racial and religious sentiments and insulting royal institutions since GE15 was held.
However, Mohd Ashraf who is also the Bersatu Anak Muda (Armada) Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) head of information said, there is also no denying that sometimes there are supporters who get carried away with sentiments.
"This is due to the political polarisation that has been fueled by irresponsible parties for a long time. Therefore, representing the voice of the youth, especially in a moderate and progressive Malay party, we strongly reject this culture of hatred," he said.
