SHAH ALAM - Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he was concerned to see racist sentiments and rhetoric being promoted by a few desperate and interested parties, especially during these crucial times.
On his Twitter account, Anwar said said that efforts to build a trustworthy and stable government should not fail in anarchy.
"Malaysians value peace and are related to one another on a human level, along with Chinese, Indians, Orang Asli, and tribes of Sabah and Sarawak," he tweeted.
Meanwhile Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said, Malaysians need to stop spreading content that could jeopardize the stability and harmony of the country.
"The police have found numerous instances of content on social media since the elections (GE15) results were announced that touched on racial and religious feelings and mocked royal institutions." In a statement, Acryl stressed that any party attempting to create a situation that threatens security or disturbs public order will face strict action in accordance with the Communications and Multimedia Commission Act of 1998, the Sedition Act, and the Penal Code.
