KUALA LUMPUR - Datuk Seri Najib Razak asks for negotiations by Barisan Nasional (BN) and any coalition to form the government to take into account the long-term interests of Umno and BN, says his daughter Nooryana Najwa.
She claimed the message was given to her while her family met Najib on Sunday, a day after the 15th General Election (GE15).
"If BN negotiates with any coalition to solve the hung parliament and to form the government, the negotiation should take into account the long-term interests of Umno and BN and not only for temporary needs.
"The negotiations should set aside the different sentiments as well as take into consideration the opinion of all BN members of Parliament that succeeded in GE15.
"Najib wanted to convey he missed his friends in BN.
"He stated his hopes and trust that Umno and BN represented a party that will definitely rise again," she said.
Perikatan Nasional (PN) obtained 73 Parliament in the GE15 had been in discussions to work to form a coalition with a few parties to form a new government.
Other than PN, Pakatan Harapan (PH) led by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was in the efforts of forming his own coalition with other parties to form the new government. - AWANI
