SHAH ALAM - Barisan Nasional denies a claim that it had a discussion with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in which both had agreed to form government with Perikatan Nasional (PN).

BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi remarked that the coalition has neither negotiated with GPS nor held any talks with PN -- led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin -- over the matter.

"All BN candidates who won the 15th General Election (GE15) have also signed a pledge and given me the mandate as the (Umno) president to determine any political alliance in establishing a government,” he said in a statement this evening.

GPS president Abang Johari had earlier today, remarked that the Sarawak coalition will join hands with PN, BN and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to form the next Federal Government and endorsed Muhyiddin as their PM candidate.

Malaysia is currently at a stalemate as none have managed to secure enough parliamentary seats to form government following yesterday's national polls.

The following are the number of seats won by each party in GE15: Pakatan Harapan: 82; PN: 73; BN: 30; GPS: 22; GRS: 7; Others: 6.
