KOTA BHARU - Former Ketereh Parliamentary seat holder Tan Sri Annuar Musa expressed his grief over the defeat of the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the Parliament in the 15th General Election (GE15).
Annuar, also the President of Muafakat Nasional, said the biggest nightmare had now finally happened.
"Extremely sad. The Quran is true. The division makes you weak and loses strength.
"We encourage consensus, we are labeled disloyal.
"We ask not to be divided, we are the ones who receive the punishment," he said in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Saturday.
He also questioned the party's direction after GE15 and asked the party that failed to step down.
"Now, where are we headed? Want to establish a connection that we reject? Want to violate the decision of the Umno General Assembly and the party again?
"Back off, enough of this destruction and listen to the voice of the people and understand the will of the people. Don't be arrogant," he said.
He said they needed to put their egos aside to continue to unite to save the country, religion and nation.
"Now Perikatan Nasional (PN), BN, Gabungan Parti Sarawak Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and others who were originally one, agree and form a government.
"Don't delay! God still loves this country. Work together immediately," he said.
GE15 in the Parliament saw victory in the favour of Major General (R) Datuk Khlir Mohd Nor (PN) who obtained 40,542 votes with a majority of 23,107 defeating Marzuani Ardila Ariffin (BN) 17,435, Haneef Ibrahim (Gerakan Tanah Air) 223 and Rahimi L Muhamud (Pakatan) Hope) 4,662.
