Police Inspector-General Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said one case was reported in Kota Bharu, Kelantan and another two cases in Johor, as reported by Harian Metro.
He said this at a press conference at the Gombak district Police Headquarters (IPD), today.
He also informed of a commotion which involved a 27-year-old man who grabbed the ink used for voting and pushed the ballot box until it fell.
The incident happened at a polling station in Ulu Yam, Hulu Selangor, investigations into the incident found that the man had a record of mental illness.
He further added that they expected the situation at most polling centres this evening to be peaceful, since many voters had come out to cast their votes in the morning.
He said he had visited four polling centres namely Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Desa Amanpuri, Damansara; SK Intan Baiduri, Kepong; SK Setapak Indah dan SK Sungai Kertas, Sri Gombak.
"I was informed by the EC (Election Commission) that almost 46 percent of voters had cast their ballots up till 12.45 this afternoon.
" I found that voters flocked out to fulfil their responsibilities in the morning causing some polling centres to experience congestion.
"However, I was informed that the congestion in some locations started to ease at 10.30 this morning. Some places (voting centres) no longer have to queue outside the premises," he said.
He said despite the congestion in the morning, the situation was under control and it shows the maturity of the community in carrying out their responsibilities with calmness and tranquillity,” he said.
