ARAU – A total of 100 kilograms of rice donations to newlyweds, provision of support equipment loans to chronic illness patients, and free ambulance service are among the 15 attractive initiatives BN offers to the residents of Arau.
BN’s Arau parliamentary candidate Datuk Rozabil Abdul Rahman said that ‘Arau Baru’ is a five-year plan that includes aspects of the economy, education and society that seems to be able to improve the development in the area.
"There are seven social empowerment initiatives which include opening an e-sports centre to guide aspiring hopefuls to the next level meanwhile, existing sports facilities, as well as popular sports activities, will continue to be improved.
"Another initiative includes gifting 100 kilograms of free rice to first-time married couples, helping the youth land jobs based on their skill set and organising basic skills certification programmes for unemployed youths.
"Aside from that, we also want to provide support equipment loans to chronic illness patients and free ambulance service to all of Arau who needs it as well as increasing internet access in the area,” he said on Friday.
Rozabil, commonly known as Tok Ben said, there were five economic growth initiatives which included to promote Arau as a tourism destination and build a motorhome park as well as to give rating stars to homestays in the Parliamentary constituency.
"Also addressed is branding products made by SMEs (Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises) in Arau with the brand ‘Best from Arau’.
"All entrepreneurs who are involved will be assisted in aspects of packaging technology, marketing, and branding.
"We also want to empower and help small business owners as well as SME entrepreneurs, especially women.
"Aside from that, we also want to increase agricultural use of technology and innovation as well as help start-up companies with business matching in an effort to reduce the migration of Perlis residents,” he said.
Rozabil said his party planned to establish the Arau Student Excellent Center as well as provide tuition to students sitting for major examinations.
"Another initiative in the education segment is free Quran recitation class to all ages as well as organising the Education On Wheels programme to increase enjoyment among pre-school, primary school and secondary school students,” he said.
