KUALA LUMPUR - Traffic congestion begins before and after the Gombak Toll Plaza towards the Genting Sempah Tunnel as those returning to their hometowns to vote for the 15th General Election (GE15) begin their journey.
The Malaysian Highway Authority through its Facebook informed that the traffic congestions had begun from east/Bentong and Bukit Tinggi towards Lentang since 3.37pm.
The public was reminded to be careful when driving in order to reach their destination safely.
Operator of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway (KLK) and East Coast Expressway Phase One (LPT1) Anih Berhad in a statement said they issued travel time recommendations for east coast highway users for the period of Nov 18 and Nov 20, in conjunction with GE15 this Saturday.
The statement said there were two choices of travel time options for the highway users from Klang Valley entering the Gombak Toll Plaza, the first option being tomorrow to Pahang (from 10am to 2pm), Terengganu and Kelantan (from 6am to 10am) while at midnight to 6am for all destinations.
Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Monday announced Nov 18 and Nov19 as a public holidays to ease Malaysians in performing their duties to vote in GE15.
