SHAH ALAM - PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) expects traffic to increase to almost two million cars from Nov 17 onwards as the nation prepares to vote.
Its Chief Operating Officer Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi said a Travel Time Proposal (TTA) schedule will be released to ensure staggered traffic to avoid congestion.
The schedule for Nov 16 to 18:
Motorists from the Klang Valley to Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak (North) and Johor to start journey before 10am.
Motorists from Klang Valley heading to other states are advised to enter the highway between 1pm and 4pm, said Zakaria in a statement today.
Motorists from Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak (north), Johor and other states are advised to start their journey before 10am to return to Klang Valley from Nov 20 to 21.
"Users should also expect to face longer travel time on the highway due to increase in vehicles compared to normal days," he said.
PLUS will also temporarily halt maintenance, upgrading or construction work from Nov 17 to 21 except for emergency work such as traffic diversion due to accident.
About 200 PLUSRonda teams will be assigned to conduct 24-hour daily patrols on the highway as well as 1,500 staff at toll plazas, Zakaria added.
He urged motorists to visit http://www.plus.com.my and PLUS social media channels for updates.
