SUNGAI SIPUT - With three days left before polling day, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob asked all BN candidates to reduce polemics in the party and focus on winning in their respective constituencies.
The caretaker Prime Minister said that whatever views expressed in relation to the party must be discussed internally without affecting the focus and operation of work to win in the 15th General Election (GE15).
"The current issue is to face the election, not facing internal party issues... so all candidates should focus on their respective constituencies to win.
"Reduce polemics among us. The important thing for me is to move forward to win, we focus on working to win, we put the other things aside first," he said.
He said this in a press conference in conjunction with the Majlis Ramah Mesra Bersama Keluarga Felda Lasah here on Tuesday.
Also present was caretaker Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and Felda director general Datuk Amiruddin Abdul Satar.
The Umno vice president also asked all BN leaders to stop regretting any mistakes of those who caused the party's defeat in GE14.
He said the matter had passed and if it continues to be discussed, it will not change anything for the future interests of the party.
"Don't cry about the past. We have learned from our mistakes.
"Even now I see that almost all the leaders who were dropped have stopped being disappointed and they are working together to win the election. That makes me proud," he said.
In the meantime, he appealed to voters in the Sungai Siput Parliament to help MIC President Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran to win in the GE15.
He said the MIC president's victory was important as it was the largest component party in BN which had maintained its stance of fighting within the coalition.
"From the time we were together, during tough times and times when we were happy, MIC was with us, MCA was also with us.
"When we lost, people left. People in Umno who won also party-hopped. There were other parties that joined us and leave, but MIC and MCA remained loyal to Umno and BN.
"So this is the time for us to show our appreciation for the sacrifices of MIC and MCA," he said.
